Land of Opportunity is a multi-modal platform that enables users, digger and doers, to engage with, as well as create and share “targeted” media to support both educational and advocacy efforts. The site is comprised of three distinct, but interrelated, modular tools pulled from a single database of both curated and user-generated content. The three modules consist of 1) an interactive video player that enables contextualized viewing and collaborative storytelling, 2) a campaign builder, that facilitates the creation of a shareable quantitative/qualitative snapshot package targeted at gatekeepers, and 3) a predictive timeline that highlights the post-disaster reconstruction life cycle of Katrina as a baseline and also overlays future post-disaster &/or urban redevelopment timelines, allowing users to conduct a comparative analysis to offer insights for future early warning intervention at critical stages.
