@home

@home

The @home campaign combines documentary film, digital organizing, and a smartphone “game for change” to explore homelessness in the first person — hearing from homeless men and women about their experiences, and seeing for yourself the toll of homelessness in your own city. The campaign’s geo-located, real-world game is designed to help players recognize that they can play a part in ending homelessness where they live. Each player will play from the point of view of the “hero.” Your challenge: to work with the virtual characters you meet as you navigate your own city, to help a homeless individual in the game world into housing. Every player can have a real-world impact, too: As you go, you collect household items for a virtual inventory. (like dishes, a pillow, or towels), and you’ll actually be raising funds to help homeless individuals into housing.
